Anthony Joshua pens tribute to late friends

Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua shared a touching tribute on Instagram to honor his two friends who tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Nigeria last month, expressing his deep sorrow.

Joshua, a passenger who survived the December 29 accident in Ogun State, shared his sadness and appreciation for the support given to the families of his friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele.

In his post on Thursday, the former world heavyweight champion shared his shock at their loss and highlighted their immense value as individuals.

He wrote, “Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers. I didn’t even realise how special they are. I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men.”

He shared how hard their passing has been for him and their families, saying, “It’s definitely tough for me, but I know it’s even harder for their parents. I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers.”

Mediaroomafrica reports that Joshua recently recounted the tragic deaths of two of his close friends in an emotional conversation with UFC star Kamaru Usman.

He expressed how their deaths “haven’t sunk in,” saying, “One was in the front, and one was behind him, on the right side. They both passed away. It still hasn’t sunk in. It still hasn’t hit me yet.”
