African Music Stars Set for World Cup

Nigerian music stars Davido, Burna Boy and Rema, alongside South African singer Tyla, are expected to feature in entertainment activities linked to the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The announcement was made as organisers reviewed plans to showcase African music and culture during events surrounding the tournament, which the United States, Canada and Mexico will host.

The inclusion of the four artists reflects the growing global influence of African music. Davido, Burna Boy and Rema have achieved international success through Afrobeats, while Tyla has gained worldwide recognition with her blend of pop and Amapiano music.

Organisers said the initiative aims to celebrate the diversity of cultures represented at the World Cup and provide a platform for artists from different regions of the world. African performers are expected to participate in concerts, fan events and other entertainment programmes connected to the tournament.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the first edition of the competition to feature 48 teams, making it the largest tournament in the event’s history. Several African countries are expected to compete for qualification as preparations continue across the continent.

Details regarding specific performances, schedules and venues involving the artists have not yet been released.
