Diageo urges Kenyan chief justice to speed up hearings of bids

Diageo’s East African Breweries unit has written to Kenya’s chief justice, urging her to fast-track hearings for cases aiming to block a $2.3 billion stake sale to Japan’s Asahi Holdings, according to a letter seen by Reuters.

In the fourth challenge to London-listed Diageo’s December plan to sell its 65% stake in EABL to a Japanese brewer, a minority shareholder last week obtained a court order stopping the deal.
