 Nigeria-Bound Passenger Dies on Kenya Airways Flight

A passenger died after suffering a medical emergency aboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi, Kenya, to Lagos, Nigeria, on Tuesday, October 6, the airline said.

Kenya Airways said the passenger became unresponsive about 20 minutes before the aircraft was due to land in Lagos. The medical emergency occurred at about 9:20 pm local Nigerian time.

The airline said its cabin crew administered first aid in line with their training and followed established emergency procedures.

The aircraft landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 9:41 pm, where medical personnel were waiting.

Following further examination, the medical team confirmed that the passenger had died.

Kenya Airways expressed condolences to the passenger’s family and friends and said it was providing necessary support in coordination with the family, local authorities and aviation regulators.

“Kenya Airways upholds and respects the privacy and dignity for all involved,” the airline said.
