Obafemi stuns Lesnar on WrestleMania debut
Isaac Odugbesan, better known as Obafemi, made a grand entrance onto the biggest stage by pulling off a stunning victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42.
The two-night event at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026, featured the Nigerian star headlining night two in a huge showdown with “The Beast.” Obafemi, a former NXT Champion known as “The Ruler,” came into the match undefeated in singles competition since debuting in December, steamrolling every challenger in his way, but WrestleMania was set to be his biggest challenge yet.
Lesnar who had earlier eliminated him from the Royal Rumble came in with his trademark aura of dominance, setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown driven by revenge and legacy.
In the end, it was Obafemi who prevailed, delivering a statement victory that signaled the arrival of a new force in WWE.
The aftermath was just as intense. Lesnar left his gear in the ring, bowed to the crowd, kissed the canvas, and hugged his longtime advocate, Paul Heyman, while fans chanted, “Thank you, Lesnar”—a gesture that seemed to signal a possible farewell. In response to his victory, Obafemi proclaimed, “I erased 25 years of dominance from The Beast and turned it into nothing. I am exactly who I claim to be—the ruler, the destroyer, the bringer of war.”
Elsewhere on the night, Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk in a fierce contest to emerge as the new world heavyweight champion.
