RSF Attack Kills Nine Civilians in North Kordofan

At least nine civilians, including two women, were killed and 14 others injured in an attack by Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in North Kordofan State, according to the Sudan Doctors Network.

The medical organisation said RSF fighters attacked residents in the Al Jamama area on Wednesday, accusing members of the community of collaborating with the Sudanese Armed Forces. The assault reportedly resulted in multiple civilian casualties and forced many residents to flee their homes.

According to the Sudan Doctors Network, the attack triggered widespread displacement as families sought safety in neighbouring areas. The organisation also alleged that RSF fighters looted the local market, a health centre and other civilian property, further disrupting access to essential services and worsening humanitarian conditions in the area.

The network condemned the attack, describing the killings, forced displacement and destruction of civilian infrastructure as serious violations of international humanitarian law. It called on RSF commanders to immediately halt attacks on civilians, refrain from targeting communities over alleged links to the Sudanese army and respect international laws protecting civilians and medical facilities during armed conflict.

The organisation also urged all parties involved in the conflict to prioritise civilian protection and prevent further abuses against non-combatants.

The RSF had not responded to the allegations at the time of reporting.
