Angola Opens New International Airport Terminal

Angola Opens New International Airport Terminal

Angola has opened a new terminal at its international airport in Luanda as part of efforts to improve aviation infrastructure and increase regional connectivity.

Government officials said the facility would expand passenger capacity, improve cargo operations and support economic activities linked to tourism and international trade.

Authorities stated that the airport upgrade formed part of broader infrastructure development plans aimed at modernising transport systems across the country.

The new terminal includes upgraded security systems, passenger services and expanded aircraft handling facilities designed to accommodate increased air traffic.

Officials also said the project was expected to strengthen Angola’s position as a regional transport hub for southern and central Africa.

Several international airlines are expected to increase operations in Luanda following the expansion of airport facilities.

The aviation sector remains a key part of Angola’s economic diversification strategy as the government seeks to reduce dependence on oil revenue.
